Barcelona are not concerned about Ronald Araujo's contract situation at the club, sources have confirmed to 90min.

Much like the highly-rated Gavi, Araujo signed a new long-term new contract last year but Barça have not been able to successfully register it with La Liga due to their financial issues.

Araujo's previous deal was due to expire in 2023 before he signed a new four-year contract last summer.

Barcelona realise the situation has been upsetting for Araujo and his representatives have been fielding enquiries from a number of clubs who are interested in his services should the Uruguay international feel his future may be better served elsewhere.

90min has been told Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle United were among those to enquire about Araujo. Inter, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund have also shown an interest but Barcelona insist the player is not and will not be available.

Barça sources have told 90min they are 'not worried' and that the contract for Araujo will 'not be an issue in the long-term'. They insist both Araujo and Gavi will be Barcelona players next season and that although 'frustrating', the situation regarding the contracts will be rectified in due course.

La Blaugrana director Mateu Alemany spoke over the weekend when quizzed about Gavi and insisted: “We are going to register Gavi for sure. There is no problem, it will be done and completed soon. We are convinced he will finish his career with Barça."
