The US Men’s National Team managed to escape the daunting Estadio Azteca with a 0-0 draw against Mexico on Thursday night, keeping the American side in second place on the Concacaf table.

Both sides missed golden opportunities in front of goal. Christian Pulisic forced goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa into several monumental saves, denying the Chelsea forward with his fingertips. At the other end, Napoli’s Chucky Lozano was unlucky not to find the back of the net after leading Mexico to 11 shots and two on goal.

The two countries are tied at 22 points each after 12 matches, before entering the last two games of the international window. The USMNT hosts Panama on Sunday at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida, before traveling to Costa Rica to close the March qualifiers.

Mexico is set to travel to Honduras before hosting El Salvador at the Estadio Azteca.
