Twitter reacts as Erik ten Hag is announced as next Man Utd manager

It's finally been announced: Erik ten Hag will become the next manager of Manchester United Football Club.
The appointment was confirmed on Thursday, with Ten Hag set to take the reins from interim manager Ralf Rangnick ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
The current Ajax manager has signed a three-year deal with the option for a fourth, with United paying £1.7m to release him from his contract in Amsterdam a year early.

Suffice to say, United fans were pretty pleased with the news...
Yes we are absolutely awful at the moment, but Erik ten Hag is now confirmed. The structure is changing. Half the squad are leaving.

Next season we’ll finally become a modern team, and we’ll reap the rewards from it.
The comeback will be magnificent.

Ten Hag is the first managerial move since Fergie where my reaction is "Interesting. Good fit. Seems like the smart, right choice."

He'll only succeed, though, if he's allowed carte blanche. Drain the swamp and get his players in / full board support.
Ten Hag as good an appointment as possible in circumstances.

There are risks, and unknowns, just like with Pochettino. United were weighing both up. The potential £20m difference in getting him, and ease of the deal, also influential.
Good luck to Erik ten Hag at Manchester United. Many issues. Confront the culture of complacency. Put the club’s focus back on football. Overhaul squad. Get rid of those just ticking over. Recruit hungrier players. #mufc need a new mindset as well as a new manager. https://t.co/7pqnl2r60M

It's official, announced by both Ajax & Manchester United. Erik ten Hag will leave Ajax at the end of the season after being in charge for 4,5 years.

Others praised Rangnick's contribution to the hiring process as interim boss.
I don’t care how bad of a manager Ralf has been as an interim

If Ten Hag is successful in the future, think we may be looking back and acknowledging Rangnick’s role.

Single-handedly calling out everything us fans have been saying for a decade.
The results might be poor, but his honesty is exactly what this club & board needs #MUFC
It’s good planning from Manchester United to appoint him until the end of the season , that was a big ambition from United to get someone in before the season comes to a close , means ten Hag can jump right in at the vital team of pre-season. They’ve worked well to get this done.

What's clear is that United fans are now raring for this season to end and the new era under Ten Hag to get underway. The Red Devils are currently lagging behind in the battle for a top four place.
Ten Hag said: "It is a great honour to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead. I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve.
“It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these incredible years, and I can assure our fans of my complete commitment and focus on bringing this season to a successful conclusion before I move to Manchester United.”
