When you appoint Jose Mourinho as your manager, you know you're not going to be treated to stellar, free-flowing football which leaves you desperate to watch your team again as soon as the final whistle has been blown.

However, what you are going to be treated to is a team that knows how to drag itself over the line in matches and always manages to find a way of reaching the latter stages of competitions.

Yeahhhh, about that last bit...

Tottenham headed to Zagreb for the second leg of their Europa League last 16 tie on Thursday evening, with Mourinho's men boasting a 2-0 lead from the first leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week.

No English side had failed to progress to the next round in a European knockout tie having held a two-goal lead from the first leg since Manchester City managed it back in 2017, but good old Spurs went and bottled it...

A pretty embarrassing defeat for a side who just two years ago made it all the way to the Champions League final, right? Oh well, every team gets beat once in a while, at least the defeat can't be made any more humiliating...what's that? THEIR MANAGER WAS IN PRISON?!

With Spurs destined for another season without a trophy (because let's be honest, they're going to bottle the Carabao Cup final if that performance was anything to go by) the attention of just about everyone on social media turned to Mourinho.

The man brought into the club to provide a 'win at all costs' mentality just doesn't seem to be capable of helping Spurs overcome their trophy hoodoo.

So, do we give him a bit more time and hope his class can begin to show? Hahaha don't be silly, this is social media, we run after him with our pitchforks and burning sticks in the air.
