What an insane day of pure Barclays that was, eh?

Manchester City came back from two down to win the league, Leeds managed to stay up, Tottenham qualified for the Champions League and Manchester United, surprise surprise, lost to Crystal Palace.

And if you head on over to Richarlison's Twitter, you'll know exactly what City's win meant for Liverpool...

Anyways, an insane day called for proper big round up of football Twitter's reaction to it from 90min. And here that is.

Enjoy:

The day started with a pretty simple question: what game should we all watch?

We had plenty to choose from with the Premier League title, the top four and the final relegation place all to be decided on the final day.

Next question was: what's the team news?

Well, there was plenty of it (10 games on at once so of course there was). The main takeaways, according to Twitter, were the following:

And one final question before kick off was answered by our very own Graeme Bailey. The question: 'how much have City spent on pyro today?'

The answer: a lot.

The first goal of the final game came from a rather shocking source, as it was Wolves who struck first to dent Liverpool's already slim Premier League title hopes.

Pedro Neto was the man who got the goal just three minutes into the game.

Queue the '!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!s'.

The next goal of the afternoon came with slightly less permutations.

And by 'slightly less permutations' we mean zero permutations because Chelsea scored. Kai Havertz got the goal...if you care.

The only relatively interesting story at Stamford Bridge was the fact that is was Mike Dean's last ever game as a referee.

We all hoped for him to go full John Terry and be substituted off after 26 minutes.

Sadly it didn't happen.

What did happen elsewhere was a much needed goal for Tottenham Hotspur at Norwich City.

Spurs fans (shoutout 90min editors Jude Summerfield and Sean Walsh) were notably very, very nervous heading into the game at Carrow Road, but Dejan Kulusevski calmed those nerves in the first half with a nice goal.

After a big goal in the top four race, two came in the relegation dogfight.

One at Brentford vs Leeds.

The other at Burnley vs Newcastle.

In the latter the goal came for Newcastle, dropping Burnley into the relegation zone.

Ted Lasso fans rejoiced.

The goal at the Brentford Community Stadium would be scored by Joe Gelhardt for Leeds United, but after a VAR check it was ruled out for offside.

Moments later a goal was scored by Liverpool that did count.

It came from Sadio Mane, it drew Liverpool level with Wolves, and it moved them back within a point of Man City at the top of the table.

The next team to score were Arsenal, with Gabriel Martinelli converting from the spot and then Eddie Nketiah scoring quickly after to put some pressure on Spurs in the race for UEFA Champions League qualification.

That pressure quickly subsided however when Harry Kane scored a second for Antonio Conte's Spurs.

Champions League football: secured.

With the top four race all but finished, attention turned to the Premier League title race and relegation battle.

And a pretty big goal was scored in the former in the 37th minute by Matty Cash.

Yep, Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa took the lead at Man City to give Liverpool a glorious chance of lifting their second ever Premier League title.

While Liverpool were being given a lifeline in the title race their biggest rivals Man Utd were being beaten by Crystal Palace in front of their new manager.

It was all very 2021/22 Man Utd.

And what made it even more '2021/22 Man Utd' was that West Ham scored at around the same time to leapfrog them in the table.

BE MORE '2021/22 MAN UTD'.

In slightly better news for the new Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag, one of his Ajax favourites - who is on loan at Everton from Man Utd - scored a goal before half-time.

Hopes are certainly high for Donny van de Beek next season.

The second halves of the final day games kicked off with Liverpool and Man City locked level at the top of the table.

And while we were all waiting for a goal alert from either of these games, Leicester scored against Southampton in the most dead match of the day.

Thanks Leicester.

A slightly more interesting goal was scored at the Amex Stadium shortly after, with Brighton drawing level with West Ham and dropping the Hammers back below Man Utd in the process.

Then, we finally got a BIG GOAL.

That BIG GOAL would come for Leeds United, with Raphinha converting from the spot to give them a real chance of securing their place in the Premier League for another season.

This BIG GOAL notably led to a BIG REACTION on football Twitter.

Leeds were given yet more good news on the final day when they found out that Newcastle had doubled their lead.

Guess who scored next in the Premier League?

No, not Man City.

Aston Villa.

Yep.

ASTON VILLA.

ASTON VILLA TOOK A TWO GOAL LEAD AT THE ETIHAD STADIUM AGAINST MAN CITY.

AND YEP - FORMER LIVERPOOL MAN PHILIPPE COUTINHO SCORED.

SCENES.

This goal upset some City fans so much that they actually decided to leave the game early.

Slightly less SCENES were happening at Carrow Road where Son Heung-min scored two goals to secure the Golden Boot - a prize he would eventually share alongside Mohamed Salah.

Good for him.

While the Man City fans were leaving the ground, their team actually started to show some signs of life.

They bagged a goal to make it 2-1 through Ilkay Gundogan and turn up the pressure on Liverpool - who only needed one to take the lead in the title race.

Then City scored a second to make it 2-2.

The lesson here is never leave a game of football early.

Never.

Things got slightly more nervy for Leeds at around the same time down near London, as Sergi Canos bagged himself a goal to make it 1-1.

Then...

The inevitable happened.

Man City took a 3-2 lead.

From two down, City had secured themselves the Premier League title.

INCREDIBLE.

After City completed their remarkable comeback, Liverpool finally scored their second goal against John Ruddy.

The goal was scored by Salah - a goal that made title race and the Golden Boot race a bit more interesting again.

Before the final whistle the Reds managed to add to their lead via Andy Robertson.

It sealed the win, but not the title.

The final whistles blew around England and everything was confirmed.

Leeds United had stayed up.

Burnley had been relegated.

Tottenham had qualified for the UEFA Champions League.

And your 2021/22 Premier League champions were crowned.
