Well...it's fair to say that the first half of Erik ten Hag's first ever Premier League game hasn't gone to plan.

And it hasn't because Manchester United went into half-time 2-0 down at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Yep, 2-0 down at Old Trafford to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Dealing with a number of injuries, including Anthony Martial, and Cristiano Ronaldo's lack of match fitness, ten Hag fielded an interesting XI on Sunday - starting Bruno Fernandes as a de-facto number nine, with new signing Christian Eriksen slotting into midfield. It's fair to say his decisions were met with mixed reviews:

Following a disappointingly slow start in front of their home fans, Man Utd began to be pegged back by the incredibly well-drilled Brighton.

The visitors then deservedly took the lead in the 30th minute through Pascal Gross following some nice play on the flank by Danny Welbeck and some not so nice defending from the Red Devils.

Shockingly the dominance continued thereafter, and Brighton would go on to double their lead before half-time.

The goalscorer? Gross, of course.

The man just bloody hates Manchester United apparently.

A big team talk is needed at half-time by ten Hag...
