There are many who say Trent Alexander-Arnold's positioning is erratic and that he can't defend in one-vs-one situations. But there's plenty more wanting to wax lyrical about his ability with the ball at his feet, and it's easy to see why.

The Liverpudlian has not revolutionised the full-back position in the way, say, Pep Guardiola has, but he's completely changed the way such players are viewed in mainstream football conciousness.

Nobody ever wanted to grow up and be a Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher famously once quipped, but Trent, with the help of a few genii Brazilians, has helped embolden and evolve the full-back position into one of luxury and distinct significance.

His role in Liverpool's rise under Jurgen Klopp can't be understated, in particular the way he's chalked up assist after assist after assist.

A player born to be utilised as an auxiliary midfielder, Alexander-Arnold's assist reportoire is only going from strength to strength.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's best Liverpool assists

10. Mohamed Salah vs Huddersfield - April 2019

Whittling down Trent's top ten is no easy task as the Liverpool star already boasts a highlight reel comparable to some of the all-time great passers and crossers.

Nevertheless, we kick-off our ranking with his assist for Mohamed Salah against Huddersfield in April 2019. The Egyptian's finish was aided by some reckless goalkeeping, but the pass in behind from Alexander-Arnold was perfectly timed and weighted.

9. Diogo Jota vs Atalanta - November 2020

Liverpool tore apart Atalanta's rigid man-marking system in this Champions League affair as Diogo Jota bagged a hat-trick in the Reds' 5-0 triumph in Bergamo.

Liverpool's rout began with a divine Alexander-Arnold pass in behind the Atalanta defence which Jota latched onto after escaping his marker's clutches.

This was a rare driven assist from the full-back, who immediately highlighted why La Dea couldn't afford to give him any time or space in their half.

8. Roberto Firmino vs Leicester - December 2019

This may well have been Trent's best performance as a professional to date. Leicester away was a tricky trip back in December 2019, and the Foxes headed into this fixture second in the league behind only Klopp's rampant Reds.

Liverpool were dominant at the King Power, with their majestic right-back at the heart of pretty much everything. Either of his assists could've made this top ten, but we've opted for his pinpoint driven cross through a sea of blue shirts that arrived at the feet of Roberto Firmino before the Brazilian coolly finished.

Alexander-Arnold rounded off the rout with a sumptuous strike of his own.

7. Mohamed Salah vs Bournemouth - April 2018

2017/18 was Trent's breakout campaign and this assist for Salah was early evidence of his unique technique and remarkable vision.

The Egyptian's headed finish was super smart, but Alexander-Arnold's delivery from the touchline and just inside the Bournemouth half was stunning. Nathan Ake could do little to intercept, with the pass possessing so much pace and whip that all Salah had to do was glance his effort over a helpless Asmir Begovic.

6. Roberto Firmino vs Monterrey - December 2019

Let's be honest, only Liverpool fans remember their side's Club World Cup campaign which means this clutch Alexander-Arnold assist has been lost amid all of the England international's magic.

The Reds' semi-final was headed for extra time before their right-back picked out Firmino with the subtlest, almost disguised front post crosses that allowed the Brazilian to poke home the winner in stoppage time.

5. Diogo Jota vs Arsenal - April 2021

Liverpool have enjoyed their battles with Arsenal in the past, with Alexander-Arnold registering six assists in 11 Premier League games against the Gunners.

Jota, too, loves a game against Mikel Arteta's side and the pair combined to devastating effect in Liverpool's 3-0 victory in April 2021,

The Reds were dominant at the Emirates, and their superiority was rewarded in the second half when Trent pulled out a vicious cross after opening up his body down the right flank. The venom on the delivery rendered the Arsenal backline helpless as a grateful Jota waited at the back post to head home.

4. Roberto Firmino vs Arsenal - April 2023

Another instalment of Alexander-Arnold torturing Arsenal arrived in their April 2023 encounter.

This was by no means an easy outing for the Liverpool full-back, who was given the run around by Gabriel Martinelli early on, but he starred in crunch time and delivered the crucial blow in the closing stages to draw the hosts level after the Gunners raced into a 2-0 first-half lead.

A cheeky nutmeg on Oleksandr Zinchenko opened up the space, and his floated cross was met by Firmino at the back stick.

A rare instance of the build-up outshining the delivery.

3. Mohamed Salah vs Porto - April 2019

What is it with Trent and majestic assists in April?

This is the fifth April assist that makes our top ten and, for us, it's the best of the bunch. Liverpool were cruising in their Champions League quarter-final tie against Porto, with Salah's goal 20 minutes into the second half all but wrapping up the contest.

Mo had no choice but to score after he was expertly picked out by the most precise of angled, penetrative passes from Alexander-Arnold. This was Kevin De Bruyne-esque.

2. Roberto Firmino vs Chelsea - July 2020

Firmino scored nine Premier League goals during Liverpool's title-winning campaign, but he'd oddly failed to score at Anfield all the way up until their final home game of the season against Chelsea.

"Don't worry, Bobby, Dr Trent will see you now," Alexander-Arnold must've told the Brazilian pre-match because this delivery was literally handing Firmino a goal on a plate.

The camera angle from behind is just... ugh. There's a sense of inevitability about what's going to occur in a couple of seconds' time once Trent draws his right leg back after seeing a free red shirt in the box.

Everything about the cross is absolutely perfect.

1. Divock Origi vs Barcelona - May 2019

Utter genius. Need I say more?
