Paul Pogba initially agreed personal terms with Manchester City over a shock free transfer, but then turned down the move over concerns of a backlash from Manchester United fans. His contract at Old Trafford is due to expire next month.

Pogba remains a Juventus target alongside Chelsea midfielder Jorginho. But Juve will not pursue a permanent deal for on-loan Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.

Kylian Mbappe is expected to finally announce whether he will stay with Paris Saint-Germain or leave the club as a free agent. If it is the latter, he is likely to join Real Madrid, who are confident. One report claims PSG have even offered him control of sporting operations out of desperation.

Paulo Dybala will leave Juventus as a free agent this summer, but the Argentine has decided he will not be going to Tottenham. Inter are still favourites to secure his signature.

Arsenal are prepared to sell club record signing Nicolas Pepe but will likely have to accept a major loss on the Ivorian winger they bought for £72m in 2019.

Jurrien Timber’s agent has hinted at a transfer from Ajax to Manchester United after posting on social media at an airport with the captain ‘deal closing time’. Erik ten Hag has recently spoken very highly of the 20-year-old defender as a potential target.

Manchester United have been tipped to allow Aaron Wan-Bissaka to leave the club. They would prefer a permanent deal but would entertain a loan if it includes an obligation to buy.

Everton are tipped to make an offer for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, who has spent this season impressing with Crystal Palace on loan and is wanted permanently at Selhurst Park.

Barcelona could sell Memphis Depay to raise funds, with Premier League trio Arsenal, Newcastle and Everton all credited with interest in the Dutchman. Another player expected to leave Camp Nou is defender Clement Lenglet, who could be a loan target for Tottenham.

Barcelona could make an approach for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, but don’t want to pay  a €35m asking price for the 30-year-old and have been tipped to offer unwanted midfielder Miralem Pjanic in part-exchange in an attempt to try and lower the fee.

Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar will become a target for Leicester if Youri Tielemans leaves the club. The Belgian has one year left on contract with the Foxes and repeatedly refused a new deal.

Liverpool forward Divock Origi is seemingly only a medical away from sealing a move to AC Milan.
