Tottenham kick their FA Cup campaign off on Sunday afternoon as they host League One strugglers Morecambe.

The Shrimps have just come away from their first win in six outings - a thrilling 4-3 victory over Doncaster, who sit bottom of the third tier - although they will have to pull something very special off if they're to continue a cup run that has so far seen them beat Newport and Buxton.

Sunday's hosts are pushing for Champions League qualification with a strong run of form behind them since Antonio Conte's appointment. Spurs did, however, suffer their first domestic defeat under the Italian last time out, succumbing to a dominant Chelsea side in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie.

Here's 90min's preview of this one.

Tottenham team news

Tottenham are expected to heavily rotate for this game, with Conte never straying too far from his first choice lineup throughout the festive period.

This could allow the likes of Pierluigi Gollini, Joe Rodon, Tanguy Ndombele and Bryan Gil to feature from the outset, while youngsters like Harvey White and Dane Scarlett should also be set for minutes.

Cristian Romero and Steven Bergwijn will be absent through injury, although Ryan Sessegnon could make a return to action for Sunday's clash.

Morecambe team news

Morecambe boss Stephen Robinson was able to call upon Cole Stockton and Alfie McCalmont in the side's 4-3 triumph last time out and, despite only returning from injury for that thriller, the pair should continue here.

The Shrimps could also welcome two new faces for this tie, after bringing in Trevor Carson and Jacob Bedeau in the transfer window.

Tottenham vs Morecambe head to head record

Considering that Morecambe currently find themselves the highest they've ever been in England's football pyramid, it's not really a surprise that Sunday's clash will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two clubs.

We don't really need history to determine a clear favourite to take home that first win, though.

Tottenham vs Morecambe prediction

Even with heavy rotation, there is only one side with realistic expectation of progressing through to the fourth round from this tie.

Spurs represent heavyweight Premier League, Champions League-chasing opposition to a side struggling to stay afloat in their maiden League One campaign.

We all love the magic of the cup but, come on, not much more needs to be said.

Prediction: Tottenham 4-0 Morecambe
