Tottenham Hotspur play host to Manchester United on Sunday in the Premier League as they look to become the first team this season to secure a double over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

Spurs won the reverse fixture 6-1 at Old Trafford with both teams' fortunes going in opposite directions since, with the Reds sitting second in the league and nine points clear of fifth, while the Lilywhites sit in sixth and three points off fourth.

Jose Mourinho's side have struggled recently, winning just one of their last four games in all competitions and crashing out of the Europa League in shocking fashion to Dinamo Zagreb. Solskjaer's side however have won four of their last five and not lost in the Premier League since the end of January.

With top four implications on the line for both sides, here is 90min's preview of the game.

Tottenham team news

Spurs have some defensive worries coming into this game with Matt Doherty and Ben Davies ruled out through injury, while Toby Alderweireld and Serge Aurier both missed COVID-19 tests after international duty and did not play in the Newcastle draw as a result.

Both should be fit to return and with Heung-min Son fit enough to be a substitute last week, he'll likely return to the starting lineup here. Vinicius will likely drop out of the team.

Manchester United team news

Marcus Rashford played through the pain barrier in midweek as United took a commanding lead in their Europa League quarter-final and will likely do the same once again here. Luke Shaw was substituted at half-time of that game to protect him, meaning he'll be fit to start too.

Eric Bailly has tested positive for COVID-19 and is still in the Ivory Coast until he can return a negative test, while Anthony Martial is expected to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury picked up on international duty with France.

Dean Henderson is expected to return between the sticks too as David De Gea played in midweek, with the England keeper now considered the number one at Old Trafford.

Predicted lineups

Tottenham: Lloris; Aurier, Rodon, Alderweireld, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Ndombele; Lucas, Lamela, Son; Kane

Manchester United: Henderson; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, McTominay; James, Fernandes, Rashford; Greenwood

Tottenham - Man Utd prediction

Bruno Fernandes

The top four face is hotting up as we enter the final stretch of the Premier League season, and both teams will want victory to further improve their chances.

Mourinho has entered the blame phase of his reign already, with excuses aplenty for every negative result and United could hammer a nail into their former manager's coffin with a good showing. Solskjaer's side will be wary of fatigue hitting them and they'll know Spurs are capable of punishing them after the reverse fixture.

United are currently unbeaten in 22 away games in the Premier League stretching back to January 2020, and with the must win nature of this game for home side, they will likely to be able to extend that run with the space left in behind by any attacks.

Whether Mourinho will be brave enough to push is another thing entirely though, so expect a tight game and for the points to be shared.

Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Manchester United
