High-flying Tottenham play host to Leicester this weekend, with both sides looking to get back to winning ways after suffering midweek defeats.

José Mourinho's Spurs came just short against champions Liverpool, falling to a harsh 2-1 defeatcourtesy of a late Roberto Firmino header, while Brendan Rodgers' Leicester were beaten on their own patch by Everton - Richarlison and Mason Holgate netting in a 2-0 win.

Both teams have impressed this season with their abilities on the counter, and that should make for an entertaining game in north London; one that will be played out in an empty Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after a recent revision of government coronavirus restrictions.

José Mourinho has no fresh injury concerns from the defeat on Merseyside, and he's confirmed that
Gareth Bale is back in contention after missing the game through illness.

Spurs are still without Erik Lamela though, who isn't scheduled for a return until January, while Japhet Tanganga remains a long-term absentee.

The Foxes have Timothy Castagne available after a thigh injury, and Jonny Evans is free to return in the heart of defence after suspension.

Ricardo Pereira and Çağlar Söyüncü are expected to remain on the treatment table for a few more weeks, and Daniel Amartey is being eased back intro training slowly after recovering from a thigh problem of his own.

Tottenham's 11-game unbeaten Premier League run may have come to an end in midweek, but Mourinho was more than pleased with what he saw from his players.

Spurs' sensational start to the season has led to talk of an unlikely title challenge, and although the Portuguese boss has played down such speculation, the performances of Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg among others suggest they really are in the mix.

In terms of recent form, Spurs have won just two of their last five in all competitions - a run that has included three goals being shipped away at Europa League minnows LASK.

The Foxes, on the other hand, are struggling for consistency as Brendan Rodgers’ side have lost three of their last five games including a 2-0 defeat to Everton in midweek when they could have moved up to second, a point behind leaders Liverpool.

Leicester are playing well on the whole, but have been dogged by consistency issues throughout the campaign. Three defeats in their last five, including the 2-0 defeat to Everton in midweek, has cost the Foxes a place in the top four, but they're within touching distance.

They are, however, exceptionally good away from home, and have won five of their last six away games.

There aren’t many more in-form strikers in the Premier League right now than Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy.

Kane loves playing against Leicester, and has scored 14 goals in 10 Premier League appearance against the Foxes, his most against a league outfit. Vardy, meanwhile, has scored 18 goals in his last 18 Premier League away matches.

Games between Spurs and Leicester usually bring goals and with both sides looking to redeem themselves from midweek, it's unlikely to end scoreless.
