Tottenham predicted lineup vs Arsenal - Premier League
Tottenham make the short trip to the home of their capital rivals Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.
Antonio Conte's Chelsea side was beaten 3-0 on his first visit to the Emirates in 2016. That loss prompted Conte to switch to a 3-4-3 at half-time, a system which Chelsea employed throughout the rest of the campaign to win the league and one which he has used since arriving at Tottenham.
Here's the XI Conte may deploy this weekend to avoid another loss.
1. Tottenham (3-4-3)
GK: Hugo Lloris - Tottenham's skipper sat out the international break with a thigh injury his club have been reluctant to explain in detail. However, if he can pull on his gloves, Conte will surely start his captain.
CB: Cristian Romero - After the grinding cogs of bureaucracy finally allowed Romero to join up with Argentina in September, the defender recorded his tenth consecutive international clean sheet.
CB: Eric Dier - In six career visits to the Emirates Stadium, Dier is yet to taste victory (D3 L3).
CB: Clement Lenglet - In the summer of 2021, Lenglet rejected a move to Spurs because of the game-time he was getting at Barcelona. Once that dropped off a cliff last season, the Frenchman admitted the decision to accept the loan move was 'very clear'.
RWB: Emerson Royal - After arriving at the club, Emerson had the anonymity to take the Tube into central London to 'see the sights' of 'one of the best cities in the world'. For reasons good and bad, the Brazilian has spent too much time in the spotlight to enjoy a quiet ride on the northern line.
CM: Pierre Hojbjerg - He may now possess a reputation as a defensive enforcer, but Hojbjerg, the son of a French mother, grew up idolising Zinedine Zidane and began his career as a number ten.
CM: Rodrigo Bentancur - Aged just 18, Bentancur played in his first superclasico with Boca Juniors against River Plate. Seven years on, Bentancur certainly has the experience of a febrile derby.
LWB: Ivan Perisic - The Croatian international hasn't faced Arsenal since lining up for Jurgen Klopp's Borussia Dortmund in the 2011/12 Champions League group stages. Perisic scored against the Gunners in Germany.
RW: Richarlison - The Brazilian has been more chaotic than clinical in the Premier League so far but took his tally to seven goals in his last six international appearances during the club hiatus.
ST: Harry Kane - Across the 123 years this rivalry has run, no player has scored as many goals in this fixture as Kane (13).
LW: Son Heung-min - A swell of emotions demobilised Son after he broke his scoring drought against Leicester in Tottenham's last Premier League outing. Presumably, he'll show some more mobility if he gets the chance to celebrate this weekend.
