Tottenham head into the return leg of their Champions League last 16 tie with AC Milan needing to overturn a 1-0 loss from the first leg.

Spurs couldn't equalise at San Siro after Brahim Diaz's early opener and have struggled for consistency since, beating West Ham and Chelsea before defeats to Sheffield United in the FA Cup and Wolves.

Antonio Conte could come back onto the touchline having handed the reins to assistant boss Cristian Stellini following gallbladder surgery. Here's the side he could pick to face a Milan side who lost to Fiorentina on Saturday.

Tottenham predicted lineup vs AC Milan (3-4-2-1)

GK: Fraser Forster - Has made some parried saves of late but failed to clear the danger. Has another month to deputise for Lloris until the Frenchman is back.

CB: Cristian Romero - Had to clear the air over some comments he made on his injury before the World Cup. Still flying into challenges as ever.

CB: Clement Lenglet - Played in the centre of the back three at Wolves in preparation for the same role on Wednesday night with Eric Dier suspended.

CB: Ben Davies - Might have played at wing back had Dier been available, but with other centre backs not impressing of late Davies should feature in the back three.

RWB: Emerson Royal - Pedro Porro has shown more refined touches in attacking areas but is yet to register a goal or an assist for Spurs. Emerson's recent improvement earned him a PL POTM nomination and he should come back in.

CM: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - Missed the first game at San Siro due to yellow cards picked up in the group stage. Spurs need a night of tireless running and refined passing from the Dane.

CM: Oliver Skipp - Has started to enjoy some of the biggest games since coming into the starting XI. Has the edge over Pape Sarr right now.

LWB: Ivan Perisic - The Croatian's delivery from out wide has been poor for some time now. He may feel more at home against familiar Italian opposition on Wednesday night.

RF: Dejan Kulusevski - Hasn't hit top form recently and Tottenham have looked blunt as a result. His battle with Theo Hernandez could be defining.

LF: Richarlison - Endeared himself to Spurs fans with two goals against Marseille in the group stage but hasn't scored since. Finally getting a look-in due to Son Heung-min's poor form.

ST: Harry Kane - Hasn't scored a knockout stage goal in the Champions League since 2019. With so much at stake, Spurs need their talisman to stand up.
