If nothing else, Tottenham's recent squall of matches have been appointment viewing for the Premier League's neutrals.

After the rubbernecking car crash of the 6-1 thumping Newcastle dished out, Spurs staged a spirited comeback against Manchester United despite trailing the Red Devils 2-0 at half-time. Tottenham threatened to combine both performances in a breathless seven-goal thriller against Liverpool on Sunday; suffering the first-half implosion they subjected their fans to at St James' Park while also rallying valiantly, scoring three times to level the score in stoppage time while also robustly testing the structural integrity of Alisson's goal frame.

Yet, Tottenham couldn't hold on to the point Richarlison thought he had earned, with his compatriot Lucas Moura gifting Diogo Jota the chance to earn Liverpool a 4-3 win.

Here is what awaits Tottenham in four games that could be intriguing to watch.

The north London outfit kick-start a tricky month of fixtures against mid-table side Crystal Palace, led by seasoned manager Roy Hodgson.

Palace were put to the sword last time out by Spurs as they conceded four at Selhurst Park, and were even subject to a three-goal drubbing at Tottenham's place last season.

The Eagles have historically struggled on their travels across the capital and have failed to register an away win over Spurs since 1997, so there's that, too.

Unai Emery has overseen a somewhat miraculous transformation in the west Midlands, making Aston Villa one of the form teams in Europe.

Villa have lost just one of their last 11 games meaning Tottenham are classed as the outsiders for this contest. But Ryan Mason's men will take pleasure in knowing their record against Villa is very respectable, even though their two losses out of 20 meetings against them have arrived in the past two years.

Interim head coach Mason then returns to the home dugout in an all-London clash against Brentford in a Saturday lunchtime fixture.

Thomas Frank's side will be tricky customers for Mason and his team, proving this on Boxing Day when they seized a point at home against Tottenham.

Since their return to the top division, Brentford have yet to beat Spurs, but they'd fancy their chances this time round.

The top-four dogfight will likely go down to the final day of the season, when Tottenham face off against relegation-threatened Leeds United.

Both teams will have plenty to play for in this one.
