Tottenham are edging closer to completing the loan signing of Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat, though the deal is dependant on the midfielder accepting the move.

Spurs are looking to revamp their midfield options. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp have all been regulars under Antonio Conte since the Italian's arrival, but the more creative Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso are all facing uncertain futures.

90min understands there is now a good chance the transfer for Amrabat will happen as an initial loan with a view to a permanent move.

Amrabat - brother of former Watford player Nordin - has struggled in Serie A this season, making just one start for Fiorentina. However, the 25-year-old previously impressed at Hellas Verona before making the move to Florence in 2020.

Midfield is not the only position Tottenham are looking to strengthen. There remains optimism that a deal will be done to bring Wolves winger Adama Traore to north London, while 90min exclusively revealed on Tuesday that Porto are willing to part ways with star forward Luis Diaz this month.

However, the Portuguese giants will not budge over their asking price of £50m for the Colombia international.

There is a release clause of £70m in the 25-year-old's contract, but Porto are prepared to accept a slightly lower fee before his valuation begins to drop. Diaz only has two years left to run on his current deal but is starting to attract significant interest from across Europe.

Diaz has been in excellent form so far this season, scoring 14 goals and adding four assists in 18 Primeira Liga appearances.
