Tottenham Hotspur have shortlisted Brentford's Phil Giles and Lee Dykes for their vacant director of football role, sources have told 90min.

Spurs are on the hunt for a successor to Fabio Paratici, who resigned from his role in April when a global football ban was upheld.

90min previously reported that Sevilla's Monchi was under consideration for the gig, while there are other candidates on Spurs' radar.

Sources have now confirmed that both Brentford director of football and executive director Giles and technical director Dykes are under consideration from Tottenham.

Giles joined in 2015 and has overseen the Bees' rise from the Championship's mid-table to the Premier League, while Dykes was promoted to his current role at the start of this season following three years as the club's head of scouting.

Giles and Dykes are also being monitored by Manchester United, both under their current regime and prospective new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is a fan of their analytical approach.

Other targets for Tottenham's director of football role include Tim Steidten, Roma's Tiago Pinto and Eintracht Frankfurt's Markus Krosche, while the in-demand Michael Edwards - who ended an 11-year stint at Liverpool at the end of last season - is also being considered.

Edwards served as Spurs' chief analyst between 2009 and 2011 and has been linked with London rivals Chelsea since leaving Liverpool.

Tottenham's new director of football will work under incoming chief football officer Scott Munn and above whoever becomes their new head coach.

Brentford's Thomas Frank, who has now worked extensively with Giles and Dykes, is one of several managers Spurs have on their shortlist having recently pulled out of talks with Julian Nagelsmann.
