Tottenham Hotspur are heading into the 2022/23 season with a considerable weight on their shoulders for the first time in a while.

Antonio Conte has breathed fresh life into a club that was on its knees a year ago, Harry Kane has said is he fitter than ever and Son Heung-min is the reigning Golden Boot holder - if there was ever a window for Spurs to challenge for a title or win a trophy, it's now.

But how close will the north Londoners get to glory? How prepared actually are they heading into the new campaign?

Here's 90min's preview of Tottenham's season...

Tottenham summer transfers

Conte has certainly been backed by Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici in the transfer market, with Spurs bringing in six fresh faces thus far.

The signings of Ivan Perisic, Richarlison and Yves Bissouma are a statement of the club's desire to win something in the short-term, while they have also brought in Djed Spence, Clement Lenglet and Fraser Forster.

In terms of outgoings, Tottenham have made a fair bit of money following the sales of Steven Bergwijn, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jack Clarke. The likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon have been told to find new clubs.

Tottenham key players

Star player

Though Son won last season's Golden Boot, Harry Kane has proclaimed he is fitter than ever and has looked a different animal with Conte's guidance.

He'll be on the prowl for his fourth Golden Boot and to end his and the club's trophy drought. If he can stay fit, then he might just succeed with both.

One to watch

Prior to a season-ending injury, Oliver Skipp was emerging as one of the Premier League's brightest talents last year.

He will miss the first couple of weeks of the new campaign with a freak foot injury, but he appears to be a favourite of Conte's despite his youth and will play a lot of games despite Spurs' wealth of midfield options.

Tottenham Premier League prediction

Spurs have certainly strengthened their squad this window and they should feel pretty good about their chances of securing another top-four finish.

Conte has made it clear that he desires more than just that as he enters the final year of his contract, but his side will need a little bit of luck if they're to properly challenge Manchester City and Liverpool.

Still, there's no shame in Tottenham almost universally being pencilled in to finish third.
