Brendan Rodgers secured his first ever managerial victory over Jose Mourinho on Sunday as Leicester made it six away wins from seven with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham in north London.

Leicester were offered a path to victory when Serge Aurier bashed into Wesley Fofana late in the first half, allowing Jamie Vardy to smash in the resulting penalty.

The visitors saw a strike from James Maddison disallowed for offside, but Spurs' hopes of getting back into the game took a further blow when Toby Alderweireld put the ball into the back of his net around the hour mark.

The Foxes held out for all three points, leaving Jose Mourinho's men to nurse another blow to their Premier League title challenge after defeat to Liverpool in midweek.

TOTTENHAM

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Hugo Lloris (GK) - 6/10 - Couldn't do much about the goals and didn't have a great deal else to do.

Serge Aurier (RB) - 5/10 - Gave away the penalty with a brainless barge into the back of Fofana; you wonder what goes through his head at times.

Toby Alderweireld (CB) - 5/10 - The Belgian scored an own goal in what was a shoddy display.

Eric Dier (CB) - 6/10 - Produced probably the strongest performance in what was a shaky backline.

Sergio Reguilon (LB) - 6/10 - Returning to the side, Reguilon got forward well but lacked quality in his deliveries.

2. Midfielders

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (DM) - 7/10 - Snuffed out danger well and was full of industry.

Moussa Sissoko (DM) - 6/10 - Brought energy and dynamism to the midfield.

Tanguy Ndombele (AM) - 6/10 - Withdrawn at half-time despite a decent first-half showing.

3. Forwards

Giovani Lo Celso (RM) - 6/10 - Limped off after 50 minutes with what appeared to be a hamstring injury. Combined well with his teammates when on the pitch.

Harry Kane (ST) - 6/10 - Dropped deeper and deeper as his side searched in vain for an equaliser, cutting a frustrated figure at times.

Son Heung-min (LM) - 6/10 - Not his ruthless self as promising chances in both halves went begging.

Kasper Schmeichel (GK) - 7/10 - Saved superbly from point-blank range to deny Son in the second half.

James Justin (RB) - 7/10 - Another mature performance from the 22-year-old in which he was robbed of an assist after Maddison's goal was disallowed.

Jonny Evans (CB) - 7/10 - Marshalled the back-line well in a strong performance.

Wesley Fofana (CB) - 7/10 - Won Leicester's first-half penalty and looked assured as he carried out his defensive duties.

Timothy Castagne (LB) - 5/10 - Looked a little rusty in his first start since October.

6. Midfielders

Wilfred Ndidi (DM) - 6/10 - Battled hard and was composed on the ball, if somewhat ponderous at times.

Marc Albrighton (RM) - 6/10 - A solid but unspectacular display from the evergreen wideman.

James Maddison (CM) - 8/10 - Exuded quality and a fine finish appeared to have doubled Leicester's tally before the goal was marginally ruled out for offside.

Youri Tielemans (CM) - 7/10 - Conducted Leicester's possession with characteristic grace but blazed over late on, squandering an opportunity to put the game to bed.

Harvey Barnes (LM) - 5/10 - His touch repeatedly evaded him as he struggled to combine with his teammates.

7. Forwards

Jamie Vardy (ST) - 8/10 - Dispatched his penalty unerringly to make it 11 goals for the season, before heading into Alderweireld to forge Leicester's second.
