Leyton Orient's Tom James has been voted PFA Vertu Motors League Two Fans' Player of the Month for October.

The 25-year-old, who counts Yeovil Town, Hibernian and Wigan Athletic among his former clubs, has been a revelation for Orient after joining on a one-year deal over the summer, and showed particularly good form in the month of October.

Orient as a club had a fairly average month - winning just once but also losing just once - but James was a key performer in every game.

Though not in the side for his goalscoring abilities, he bagged one in the 3-2 defeat to promotion rivals Port Vale, and followed up that goal with another in the mightily impressive 5-0 hammering of Hartlepool.

More importantly, James helped Orient keep three clean sheets in their five October games - consistency that helped see off Matty Jay and Dom Telford in the public vote.

James picked up 21.6% of the votes registered by fans of League Two, while Jay scooped 20.5% and Telford 20.4% - testament to the cracking months they also had.

Robert Milsom, George Miller and Tom Conlon were also in contention for the award, and each scooped at least 12.4% of the public vote.

In the end, James did enough to scoop the October gong, and can now focus his attention on helping Orient turn some of their recent draws into victories. The club have drawn eight of their 15 League Two games so far, sitting inside the play-offs on 23 points.
