AC Milan have confirmed that left-back Theo Hernandez has signed a new contract to stay at the club until 2026.
A £20m signing from Real Madrid in 2019, Theo has been excellent for Milan and forced his way into the France national team earlier this season.
With a contract that was set to expire in 2024, Theo had attracted interest from a handful of top sides across Europe. Chelsea were linked with the Frenchman in January, while Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have both been keeping an eye on things.
However, the wing-back put an end to the speculation last month, insisting he was 'so happy' at Milan, and confirmation of his new extension has now arrived.
With the defender's deal sorted, Milan now plan to turn their attention to other extensions. Talks with both Ismael Bennacer and Rafael Leao are progressing well and the hope is that the pair will follow Theo in inking fresh terms soon enough.
However, there are still concerns over centre-back Alessio Romagnoli and Franck Kessie, whose deals are up in the summer, amid interest from a number of top clubs around Europe.
