The Premier League rolled into 2023 with some incredible action at both ends of the table.

There were huge goals and games that had implications on the title race, search for European qualification and battle for survival.

Here are the top Premier League moments from January.

No player in history has scored more goals for Tottenham Hotspur now than Harry Kane.

The England captain tied Jimmy Greaves at 266 with a trademark strike to beat Fulham in January's final fixture, swivelling and firing in one quick motion to beat Bernd Leno to secure Spurs immortality.

9. West Ham win relegation six-pointer vs Everton

It was a battle of two giants at the wrong end of the table when Everton travelled to West Ham.

A brace from Jarrod Bowen ended up deciding the game to ease the pressure on David Moyes, but Frank Lampard was dismissed of his duties days later.

8. Man City stage raucous comeback at home to Tottenham

With their title bid flailing, Manchester City fans booed their team off at half-time after falling two goals behind against bogey team Tottenham.

But Pep Guardiola's men rallied after the break and hit Spurs with three quick-fire goals, before adding a fourth later in stoppage time.

7. Michael Olise's nonchalant late equaliser against Man Utd

Manchester United briefly looked like genuine title contenders at the start of January, and with a trip to leaders Arsenal on the horizon, they could have worked their way into that picture (more on that later).

But the Red Devils could only manage a draw a few days prior at Crystal Palace. Michael Olise scored an incredible free-kick in added time, then acted as if it was an everyday occurence.

6. Brentford blitz Liverpool without Ivan Toney

It's not been a particularly amazing season by Liverpool's standards. It only went from bad to worse in their trip to Brentford on January 2.

Ivan Toney was ruled out in a huge blow for the Bees, but Yoane Wissa rose to the occasion to help the hosts to a 3-1 win. They had the ball in the Reds' nets five times, cruelly denied on two occasions by VAR.

5. Fulham prevail in chaotic west London derby

Much of the focus around Chelsea's short trip to Fulham was about Joao Felix's debut following his loan move from Atletico Madrid.

He played well for 58 minutes. And then got sent off.

Carlos Vinicius scored a late winner for the hosts.

What is so often a hotly contested fixture was a rather limp one in the end, but it served to show just how dominant this Arsenal team are.

Martin Odegaard fired in the clincher after Hugo Lloris gifted the Gunners the lead early on, and bar a 15 minute spell in the second half, Arsenal's first win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was a relatively comfortable one.

3. Brighton's memorable Merseyside double

Brighton are pushing for a European spot this season after a phenomenal January.

They opened 2023 with a suffocating win away at Everton, while they walked all over Liverpool at the Amex Stadium a couple of weeks later.

2. Man Utd's late turnaround at home to Man City

Shortly before being disappointed against Crystal Palace, Manchester United were riding high after seeing off rivals Manchester City.

Jack Grealish gave the champions the lead at the Etihad Stadium, before late goals from Bruno Fernandes and then Marcus Rashford saw the hosts stage a memorable comeback.

1. Eddie Nketiah's late winner sees off Man Utd

Arsenal have looked like worthy title winners from the off this season, but this was the real 'oh, they're serious' moment.

A back-and-forth contest with Manchester United saw Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka both score worldies, but Eddie Nketiah had the last laugh with an improvised close-range finish in the final minute.
