The drama is never over in the Premier League until the referee's full-time whistle blows.

Late goals pop up every week in England's top flight, with top teams keeping their title hopes alive and relegation candidates giving themselves fresh dreams of survival with strikes so late that the stopwatch can drift towards three figures.

Here are the latest goals scored in Premier League history.

Darwin Nunez has been an agent of chaos ever since joining Liverpool from Benfica and has provided Reds fans with several dramatic goals.

He left it very late to save an injury-ravaged Reds side at Nottingham Forest in March 2024, bagging the only strike of the game with his club's latest-ever winning goal in the Premier League since records began.

Nunez had been taunted by home chants of 'You're just a s**t Andy Carroll' bare moments before getting on the scoresheet. "Honestly I'd not sing a song like that," Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp warned post-game. "I would never try to wind Darwin up."

9. Yerry Mina vs Wolves (2023) - 98m 54s

Everton's recent Premier League history has seen them slide into the bottom half of the table. They nearly went down in 2022/23, but Yerry Mina scored what proved to be a crucial equaliser against Wolves in May with almost 100 minutes on the clock.

The Colombian defender was on hand to convert amid a goal-mouth scramble and secure a 1-1 draw for the Toffees, who would end up finishing two points above 18th-placed Leicester City on the final day.

8. Oliver Norwood vs Wolves (2023) - 99m 17s

Sheffield United's return to the Premier League hasn't gone amazingly in 2023/24. It took the Blades until early November to claim their first win of the season, but it came in dramatic circumstances.

With Wolves the visitors and the score locked at 1-1 at Bramall Lane, a penalty was awarded to the Blades after a video assistant referee consultation spotted Fabio Silva taking out George Baldock.

Oliver Norwood duly sent Jose Sa the wrong way, leaving Wanderers manager Gary O'Neil cursing his side's luck with referees once again.

7. Bruno Fernandes vs Brighton (2020) - 99m 45s

A game packed with action took place in September 2020 when Man Utd visited Brighton.

Solly March had made it 2-2 in the 95th minute after Neal Maupay's penalty, Lewis Dunk's own goal and Marcus Rashford's strike.

However, a spot-kick was awarded after referee Chris Kavanagh had blown for full time, with Maupay's handball from a corner being penalised. Bruno Fernandes capitalised to help the Red Devils pick up their first league win of the campaign.

6. Dejan Kulusevski vs Sheffield United (2023) - 99m 53s

Goals and drama are always to be expected whenever Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham Hotspur play and their fans got an early hint of the chaos in store under the Greek-Australian in their enthralling win over Sheffield United.

Gustavo Hamer had set the Blades on course for a momentous victory late in the second half, but substitute Richarlison headed in with a 98th-minute effort.

There was enough time left for the Brazilian to then set up Dejan Kulusevski roughly two minutes later as the Swede fired a shot into the top corner, prompting bedlam in north London.

5. Juan Mata vs Norwich (2011) - 100m 3s

Chelsea were rarely convincing under Andre Villas-Boas during his brief reign at Stamford Bridge and one of his more resounding results in charge was actually a hard slog against Norwich City.

The Blues had been pegged back by Grant Holt just after the hour mark following Jose Bosingwa's sixth-minute effort.

The Canaries conceded a penalty and had goalie John Ruddy sent off as Frank Lampard converted from the spot, though it was Juan Mata who rounded off the scoring with a precise curler.

4. Leon Bailey vs Crystal Palace (2023) - 100m 9s

Aston Villa emerged as a strong contender for Champions League qualification in 2023/24 and showed real commitment in leaving it late to beat Crystal Palace in September 2023.

More than a quarter of an hour of stoppage time was played at Villa Park as Unai Emery's side searched for a winner shortly after Jhon Duran's 87th-minute leveller.

Douglas Luiz's penalty put the hosts ahead after Chris Richards fouled Ollie Watkins before Leon Bailey's finish put a gloss on the scoreline.

3. Gabriel Jesus vs Man Utd (2023) - 100m 15s

Arsenal have enjoyed some crucial wins during their development under Mikel Arteta and this late triumph over Man Utd encapsulated everything exciting about the modern-day Gunners.

Gabriel Jesus' 101st-minute effort came during an exhilarating late show from the north London giants. Declan Rice had put them ahead from a corner moments earlier after two goals in two-first half minutes from Marcus Rashford and Martin Odegaard.

Jubilant scenes were sparked at the Emirates Stadium when Jesus raced clear to secure all three points.

2. Dirk Kuyt vs Arsenal (2011) - 101m 48s

Dirk Kuyt held the record for the latest-ever Premier League goal for over 13 years thanks to his equaliser at Arsenal in 2011.

An injury sustained by Reds defender Jamie Carragher saw the game stretch deep into second-half stoppage time. Robin van Persie's penalty looked to have stolen the points for the Gunners, but Kuyt was able to equalise four minutes later from the spot after Emmanuel Eboue had brought down Lucas Leiva.

1. Oli McBurnie vs West Ham (2024) - 102m 8s

Oli McBurnie's equaliser for Sheffield United against West Ham in January 2024 is the latest-ever goal in Premier League history at 102 minutes and eight seconds.

It was assisted by a contentious penalty awarded with the help of VAR as Alphonse Areola jumped for the ball against McBurnie.

Hammers boss David Moyes frowned post-match that managers were "shrugging our shoulders" at certain decisions, though Chris Wilder made no apologies as his Blades outfit escaped with a 2-2 draw in a game that also saw red cards for Rhian Brewster and Vladimir Coufal.
