Week seven of the 2022 Major League Soccer has come and gone, and it did not disappoint.

Players thrived with their teams, scoring to climb the conference tables and earn a place on this week’s Goals of the Week. Ismael Tajouri-Shradi marked his first home goal for LAFC since joining during the offseason, while Jeremy Ebobisse capitalized on a free-kick to equalize vs. Nashville SC.

Here’s all you need to know about this week’s edition…

5. Alejandro Pozuelo (vs. Philadelphia Union)

There was just no stopping Alejandro Pozuelo.

The Toronto FC player navigated through several Philadelphia Union defenders before finding a pocket of space to direct the winner to the far post. His goal earned the Canadian side the 2-1 win at BMO Field on Saturday night, setting the team up for fifth place on the Eastern Conference table.

4. Bakaye Dibassy (vs. Colorado Rapids)

Bakaye Dibassy opened up the scoring in the 42nd minute against the Rapids with a header from the center of the box to the bottom left corner. The player maximized a cross by Emanuel Reynoso to earn the early lead and inspire his side to the ultimate 3-1 victory.

3. Ercan Kara (vs. Columbus Crew)

It was a tiki-taka goal that led Orlando City to a 2-0 victory over the Columbus Crew on Saturday. Ercan Kara finished off a stunning sequence by the offense, managing the right footed shot from the center of the box to the top right corner.

It was the team’s second consecutive win as they sit second on the Eastern Conference table behind the Philadelphia Union.

2. Jeremy Ebobisse (vs. Nashville SC)

Ebobisse is back for the San Jose Earthquakes after spending 2021 with the Portland Timbers. He kicked off the 2022 Major League Soccer campaign with five goals in seven matches, adding two tally to his name on Saturday against Nashville SC.

His first goal might have opened up the scoring for the Earthquakes, but it was his second that made all the difference. The player capitalized on a free kick opportunity by sending a left footed shot into the top left corner to equalize the match at 2-2.

1. Ismael Tajouri-Shradi (vs. Sporting Kansas City)

Ismael Tajouri-Shradi scored his first home goal for LAFC on Sunday, and it did not disappoint. The player came off the bench in the second half to bury a left footed strike from just outside the box into the top left corner in a stunning fashion.

It was his first at Banc of California Stadium since joining LAFC during the offseason.

“Ismael is an explosive attacking player who is a proven winner in MLS and is a good fit to how we look to play. We know from experience he is difficult to defend and brings great pedigree to our Club,” LAFC Co-President & General Manager John Thorrington said after signing the player, and he has lived up to every word.
