The best goals of MLS week 30 - ranked

The 2022 Major League Soccer season is quickly coming to an end, but players don't seem to be slowing down.

Week 30 saw some unreal efforts across conferences, with Orlando City's Andres Perea finding the back of the net in the East and Chicho Arango stunning in the West. But it all came down to Atlanta United's young figure Thiago Almada.

here's all you missed on this edition of goals of the week...

5. Chicho Arango (vs. FC Dallas)

To kick off, we have Chicho Arango's first half goal against FC Dallas. The player connected with none other than Giorgio Chiellini to open up the scoring.

But despite the efforts, LAFC eventually fell 2-1 to the Texas team. LAFC continue to lead the Western Conference with 61 points, but their recent downward spiral has allowed for Philadelphia Union to take over the Supporters' Shield standings. With three regular-season games, LAFC must return to its winning ways.

4. Jonathan Lewis (vs. Vancouver Whitecaps)

The Colorado Rapids are seven points away from a MLS playoff slot, but that didn't stop Jonathan Lewis from fighting against the odds and win the game for the Western Conference team.

His 75th minute goal sealed the 3-1 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps, extending the team's record to 9W-12L-9D.

3. Andres Perea (vs. Philadelphia Union)

Despite the unfortunate 5-1 score, Orlando City did have one positive during the match. Andres Perea managed a stunning second half goal, completing the right-footed shot from just outside the box to find the bottom left corner.

It might not have been much, but at least Perea gave Orlando fans something to cheer about during the 90 minutes.

2. Lucas Zelarayan (vs. CF Montreal)

It's been a bit since Lucas Zelarayan made this list, but he's back. The Columbus Crew midfielder doubled the score for his side with a right-footed shot from just outside the box to the bottom right corner.

Though Montreal eventually tied the game 2-2, Zelarayan's efforts cannot be overlooked.

1. Thiago Almada (vs. Toronto FC)

Last but not least, Thiago Almada. Atlanta United have been a bit of a disappointment this season, falling to 10th on the Eastern Conference table with a slim chance of making the playoffs, but at least Almada has been a constant positive.

His 74th minute goal, sandwiched between Juan Purata's hat-trick, felt like a classic effort on his part, and an effort we will be rewatching after the season ends.
