The best goals of MLS Week 11 - ranked

Week 11 of the 2022 MLS season was another packed full of incredible goals.

The 2021 Golden Boot winner continued his return to form, while the most expensive player in league history gave us another timely reminder of why he carries that title.

5. Taty Castellanos (vs Columbus Crew)

After a slow start, the defending champs are picking up pace, as is the 2021 MLS Golden Boot winner, Taty Castellanos.

His clincher against the Crew was pure Argentine magic, with Maxi Moralez sweeping an expert pass over the top, meeting a perfectly timed Castellanos run. The control was top-class and the finish even better.

4. Sebastian Blanco (vs Sporting Kansas City)

The Timbers showed absolutely no mercy to Sporting Kansas City at the weekend, running out emphatic 7-2 winners.

Sebastian Blanco was the catalyst again, and his goal to make it 3-0 was the pick of the bunch.

In many ways, it's a similar goal to Castellanos', with a lofted ball over the defense setting an Argentine attacker away. But despite a beautiful chip from Taty, Blanco's finish was even better.

3. Andrew Brody (vs Austin FC)

It was a good week for Andrew Brody, who signed a new contract with Real Salt Lake and then celebrated by hitting this absolute rocket beyond Andrew Tarbell to seal an 88th-minute comeback win over high-flying Austin FC.

Some way to score your first MLS goal. You just don't stop those.

2. Thiago Almada (vs New England Revolution)

The way Thiago Almada takes this ball out the sky and immediately puts himself in space to shoot is just incredible. It's exactly why he's the most expensive player in MLS history - well, that and the curling finish into the far corner, of course.

This goal - his second of the season and arguably not even his best - is just the pure, uncensored technique of a master craftsman. It was so close to taking first spot.

1. Cristian Roldan (vs Minnesota United)

For a very long time, Almada occupied top spot on this list. Controlling a ball coming down from so high takes some doing.

But there's just something about this Roldan strike. The way he hits it so clean while practically falling over on the turn. Dayne St. Clair has absolutely no chance, and it's the sort of hit you can just watch go into the back of the net over, and over, and over.
