Bayern Munich make the trip to take on league leaders and undefeated Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday evening, with top spot in the Bundesliga up for grabs.

The reigning European and German champions have endured a bit of a blip in their form in recent weeks - with only four wins from their last eight games in all competitions. This has allowed Leverkusen to sneak to summit of the Bundesliga for the first time in over six years.

These high stakes games are usually the type that Hansi Flick and Bayern thrive in though, and with a winter break coming up after this game they'll want to close out the year top of the league.

Here's how Bayern should lineup to get all three points and end Leverkusen's unbeaten run.

1. Goalkeeper and Defenders

Manuel Neuer (GK) - The 2020 goalkeeper of the year, Neuer is a guaranteed starter for Bayern Munich in a game this important.

Niklas Sule (RB) - Usually a centre-back, Sule returned from injury in midweek and played at right-back in a win over Wolfsburg. He was the standout defender then and should continue in that role in this game.

Jerome Boateng (CB) - The veteran German continues to hold a regular place at the heart of the defence. His passing is still excellent, as displayed by his assist for Lewandowski's winner in midweek.

David Alaba (CB) - Talk surrounding his future continues to rumble on, but his performances don't waiver. A world class defender, he starts when available.

Alphonso Davies (LB) - The young defender returned to action last weekend but was rested in midweek, so should start here as he looks to build back up to full fitness.

2. Midfielders

Corentin Tolisso (CM) - Not had the best of seasons so far for Bayern, but with injuries piling up the Frenchman will get the nod for this one.

Leon Goretzka (CM) - The German missed the midweek game with a muscle injury but is back in training. He'll start if he's fit enough.

Thomas Muller (CAM) - One of the key players in Flick's system, he saves his best performances for the big games. His intelligence, work rate and instincts in and around the box make him a must start.

3. Forwards

Serge Gnabry (RW) - Hasn't scored in his last 10 games but continues to start. Usually turns up when it matters most for Flick though, so expect a big performance from the German.

Kingsley Coman (LW) - The man who scored the winner in the Champions League final in August is in fantastic form, with seven assists and three goals in his last six games. Must start.

Robert Lewandowski (ST) - Officially the world's best player in 2020, Lewandowski starts when fit.
