Tottenham director Fabio Paratici has insisted that the club has no regrets about not selling Harry Kane to Man City in the summer.

Kane was the subject of a £100m bid from the Premier League champions in July with Spurs remaining firm in their insistence that he was not for sale.

Despite the player being keen on the move, he ended up staying at Spurs. He has since made a slow start to the 2021/22 season, failing to net in any of his opening six Premier League games.

This has led to some suggesting that Tottenham might have been better off taking the money, but Paratici was insistent that the club had made the correct choice.

"Harry Kane loves Tottenham. We’ve decided to keep Harry last summer to start the re-building, and we’re happy with our choice. There’s no need of any new talk with Harry. He knows how to share the sense of belonging to Spurs," he said at the Festival dello Sport event.

Paratici also took time to field questions about a number of prospective new signings. Tottenham have been linked with Inter pair Milan Skriniar and Marcelo Brozovic as rumours swell about the Nerazzurri's continuing financial issues.

"Rumours around about Milan Skriniar to Spurs are not accurate. We’re not working to sign Marcelo Brozovic, he’s Inter player and it’s not even a topic for us."

Another player Tottenham have been tipped to make a move for is free-scoring Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic - who will be available on a free in the summer after turning down the club's contract offer.

"Dusan Vlahovic is appreciated by many clubs, it’s normal - he’s not in our plans, for now," he added.

"I’m not gonna speak about Dusan Vlahovic as he’s under contract with Fiorentina… and also because we’ve Harry Kane who’s the best centre-striker in the world."
