Sporting Kansas City has completed a deal for forward William Agada from Israeli side Hapoel Jerusalem.

The player joins through the 2023 Major League Soccer season with options for 2024 and 2025. He is set to occupy an international roster spot once the MLS Secondary Transfer Window opens on July 7, pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P1 visa.

“I am so excited to be joining Sporting KC,” Agada said in a press release. “It is a dream to play for a club like this and I hope to come in and help the team succeed. This is a great opportunity for me and I can’t wait to compete in front of the fans in Kansas City.”

Agada stands as the second Sporting KC player to arrive from the Israeli Premier League in the last three seasons, joining Gadi Kinda. He managed 37 goals across three seasons with Hapoel Jerusalem and one with Hapoel Haifa.

His arrival also gives head coach Peter Vermes’ side depth in the attack while Designated Player Alan Pulido remains out after undergoing knee surgery. Sporting KC now boasts Agada, Johnny Russell and Daniel Salloi as forwards.

SKC currently sit in 12th on the Western Conference table with a 4W-9L-4D record. Despite a turbulent start to this year’s campaign, the team managed to advance to the semifinals of the US Open Cup, where they face USL Championship side Sacramento Republic.
