Juventus have endured a nightmarish start to the Serie A season, failing to win any of their opening four games.

Their latest disappointment came against AC Milan on Sunday, when some slack defending and passive approach play allowed Ante Rebic to grab an equaliser deep in the second half.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri has cut a frustrated figure on the touchline and he will be desperate to secure his first three points since returning to the club when his side travels to Spezia on Sunday.

The shine from Spezia's first win of the Serie A season against Venezia last time out was taken off somewhat after centre-back Martin Erlic was forced to withdraw through injury. This gives Thiago Motta a selection headache at the back.

Elsewhere, Rey Manaj - currently on loan from Barcelona - is pushing for a start as Spezia's forwards have not been prolific so far.

Federico Chiesa came off the bench during Juve's last outing against Milan and he'll hope for a start here, but he'll have to do better after he was publicly called out by Allegri for not doing enough.

Namesake Federico Bernardeschi is also fit again after a similar layoff, but neither Arthur Melo or Kaio Jorge will feature because of muscle problems.

As Spezia are only a recent fixture in the Italian top flight, the two clubs have met just four times previously.

Two of these came in Serie B, when Juventus were demoted in the wake of the Calciopoli scandal. The Old Lady surprisingly lost one of these fixtures and drew the other 1-1.

Last season Juve did the double over Spezia in Serie A, winning 7-1 on aggregate over the two games.

Juventus may have endured an embarrassing start to the season but with Chiesa back in contention they will surely end their winless run against Spezia.

They showed a real knack for putting the Aquilotti to the sword last season and Thiago Motta will be looking to avoid similar humiliation this time out. As Juve are low on confidence, the scoreline should not be too disheartening.
