Seventh-placed Milan travel to Stadio Paolo Mazza on Wednesday evening to face bottom side SPAL in Serie A.

I Rossoneri beat Roma 2-0 in their last outing, meaning they've won two games on the trot since Italy's top flight resumed.

As for the home side, their 3-1 defeat at the hands of Napoli last time out has left them eight points adrift of safety as the threat of relegation continues to loom large.

I Biancazzurri have only won twice in the league in 2020, while their previous encounter with Milan saw the Italian giants claim a 1-0 victory back in December.

As for the visitors, they will again be without defender Mateo Mussachio, who may not return until October due to an ankle injury, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still missing.

On a more positive note, Stefano Pioli may be able to welcome Léo Duarte to his defence, with the Brazilian yet to feature since the league restart.

Predicted Lineups

SPAL: Letica; Cionek, Vicari, Bonifazi, Reca; Strefezza, Missiroli, Murgia, Fares; Valoti; Petagna.

Milan: Donnarumma; Conti, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacur; Saelemaekers, Paqueta, Calhanoglu; Rebic.

Recent Form

Both sides have only played two league games since the restart, with the home side losing to both Napoli and Cagliari ahead of their seemingly inevitable relegation.

As for Milan, two convincing wins over Lecce and Roma have put them back in the hunt for fifth place, as they seek a return to European competition. The return of domestic football did, however, see Pioli's side bow out of the Coppa Italia to Juventus on away goals.

Here's a look at both clubs' last five competitive fixtures.

SPAL

Napoli 3-1 SPAL (28/6)
SPAL 0-1 Cagliari (23/6)
Parma 0-1 SPAL (8/3)
SPAL 1-2 Juventus (22/2)
Lecce 2-1 SPAL (15/2)

Milan

Milan 2-0 Roma (28/6)
Lecce 1-4 Milan (22/6)
Juventus 0-0 Milan (12/6)
Milan 1-2 Genoa (8/3)
Fiorentina 1-1 Milan (22/2)

Prediction

While on paper this fixture may appear a straightforward win for the visitors, the hosts will no doubt be scrapping for their lives and often provide a stern test against the top sides - they only lost 2-1 to league leaders Juventus earlier this season.

That being said, Milan have been excellent since the restart and seemed to have shrugged off the poor form they were in before the league's suspension.

While it may not be a goal fest, it would seem there can be only one winner here - Milan.

Prediction: SPAL 1-2 Milan
