Spain predicted lineup vs Norway - Euro 2024 qualifier
By Tom Gott
With 15 new faces and a brand new manager, Spain have really shaken things up after the World Cup.
La Roja's focus is now on Euro 2024 and they will begin their qualification journey with a visit from an Erling Haaland-less Norway on Saturday.
Here's how new boss Luis de la Fuente could set up for his first game in charge.
Spain predicted lineup vs Norway (4-3-3)
GK: David Raya - Usual stopper Unai Simon is out injured so it's a chance for Raya to impress on the international stage.
RB: Pedro Porro - Porro is the right-back of the future and De la Fuente, his former coach at Under-21 level, won't be scared to start him.
CB: Aymeric Laporte - Laporte has been a near-permanent starter since switching his international allegiance from France.
CB: Inigo Martinez - David Garcia is pushing to make his debut but it's the veteran Martinez who should start here.
LB: Alejandro Balde - Like Porro, Balde is the long-term option at left-back so letting him gel in the team is a smart move.
DM: Rodri - Sergio Busquets' retirement opens the door for Rodri to make this spot his own.
CM: Gavi - Despite all the uncertainty over his future at club level, there's no doubting Gavi's role for the national side for the next decade.
CM: Dani Ceballos - Quietly one of the top performers in Spain over the past few months, Ceballos is more than deserving of his start.
RW: Nico Williams - It would be nice to see Williams' solid form at club level translate into international minutes.
ST: Alvaro Morata - The new team captain, it's pretty clear that Morata is going to start more often than not.
LW: Dani Olmo - Injuries to preferred wingers may force De la Fuente to turn to Olmo, who was also given his Under-21 debut by the current boss.
