Southampton and Chelsea meet in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, with both teams looking to get back on track.

Ralph Hasenhuttl's men have suffered a severe dip in form in recent weeks, although put an end to their four-match losing streak with a 1-1 draw at Leeds last time out. Now sitting 12th after a rocky spell, the Saints face a Chelsea side that is enduring a bumpy patch of its own.

Thomas Tuchel had seen his side win 12 in 13 fixtures across all competitions, until the arrival of April. Since the turn of the month, the Blues have been thumped twice at home in succession; first came a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Brentford before Karim Benzema's clinic earned Real Madrid a 3-1 victory at Stamford Bridge last time out.

Here's 90min's preview of this one.

Southampton team news

The hosts have no fresh injury concerns to contend with for this one, with the only certain absentee expected to be defender Lyanco.

Alex Mccarthy should be fit enough to make Hasenhuttl make a decision between the sticks, although Fraser Forster should be set to retain his spot this weekend.

There will be some change in the lineup, however, with Chelsea loanee Armando Broja unavailable to face his parent club.

Chelsea team news

Ben Chilwell will once again be unavailable for the Blues and, while Callum Hudson-Odoi is nearing a return, this weekend's trip to the south coast should come to soon for the winger.

Elsewhere, however, Tuchel has no new injury worries, although might opt to rest a few key players before a massive trip to Madrid next week - potential sacrifices for the sake of fitness could include the likes of Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta and N'Golo Kante.

Southampton vs Chelsea prediction

After Tuchel's visible frustration following his side's disappointing midweek defeat to Los Blancos, you'd fully expect a strong reaction from Chelsea this weekend.

Although one eye will inevitably be on their mammoth second-leg game against Real Madrid, a trip to an out-of-form Southampton presents a good opportunity to put a shocking pair of results behind them.

It will be a tough ask but, given the star-studded quality littered in that Blues squad, the visitors should come away with a positive outcome.

Prediction: Southampton 1-2 Chelsea
