Manchester City will look to make it four wins from five games when they travel to the coast to take on Southampton on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola's side crushed Premier League champions Liverpool 4-0 on Thursday and have just one loss - the defeat at Chelsea - since English football resumed in June.

The Saints come into this game off a good 3-1 win at Watford and can continue their push for a top-half finish should they rack up another three points this weekend. They made it difficult for Pep Guardiola's side in the reverse fixture and could pull off a great result at home, too.

Team News

The Saints will be boosted by the returns of Moussa Djenepo and Jack Stephens, who missed their last game due to suspension. Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (ankle) and Sofiane Boufal (thigh) are unlikely to feature, while Nathan Tella, Jannik Vestergaard and Yan Valery are also doubtful.

As for City, Fernandinho will be available for selection after his sending off at Stamford Bridge, which resulted in him missing the recent victories against Newcastle and Liverpool.

That makes Sergio Agüero is the only absentee for Guardiola with a knee problem, but they've hardly missed him thanks to the excellent form of Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling.

Predicted Lineups

Southampton: McCarthy; Walker-Peters, Bednarek, Stephens, Bertrand; Ward-Prowse, Romeu; Armstrong, Redmond; Ings, Long.

Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Fernandinho, Laporte, Mendy; Gündoğan, Rodri, De Bruyne; Foden, Jesus, Sterling.

Recent Form

Since the Premier League's restart, Ralph Hasenhüttl's side have won two of their three games. That said, they were disappointing in their home defeat to Arsenal, and a much improved performance will be required if they are to take points off last season's champions.

As for the visitors, they too have lost just once since returning to action - their 2-1 defeat at Chelsea. They've been in rampant form up front, racking up 12 goals in their wins over Burnley, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Here's how both sides have fared in their last five matches.

Southampton

Watford 1-3 Southampton (28/6)
Southampton 0-2 Arsenal (25/6)
Norwich City 0-3 Southampton (19/6)
Southampton 0-1 Newcastle (7/3)
West Ham 3-1 Southampton (29/2)

Manchester City

Manchester City 4-0 Liverpool (2/7)
Newcastle 0-2 Manchester City (28/6)
Chelsea 2-1 Manchester City (25/6)
Manchester City 5-0 Burnley (22/6)
Manchester City 3-0 Arsenal (17/6)

Prediction

In the reverse fixture, Southampton made their opponents work hard for their 2-1 win, with Kyle Walker's 86th minute goal ultimately the difference. It will likely be another close encounter, with both teams in good form since the restart.

That said, City have been dominant in every game bar the Chelsea defeat. Their attack has continued to fire on all cylinders, while midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne has been outstanding.

While an in-form Danny Ings may help the Saints trouble their opponents' backline, it will likely not be enough to prevent the Citizens from getting their 22nd league victory of the season on Sunday.

Prediction: Southampton 1-3 Man City
