Fiorentina are refusing to do business with Barcelona over midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, 90min understands.

The Morocco international was one of the stars of the World Cup and has attracted interest from a number of sides, including Liverpool and Tottenham, but it is Barcelona who have been pushing hardest for his signature of late.

Barcelona have offered to sign Amrabat on an initial loan deal with a view to a permanent move, with financial restrictions preventing them from signing any new players outright this month.

However, sources have confirmed to 90min Fiorentina are not interested in losing the 26-year-old on a loan deal this month.

Barcelona's offer is understood to have included an option to buy, rather than an obligation, which was also not received well by Fiorentina.

After Barcelona's offer was knocked back, Amrabat took to Instagram to offer a cryptic message to his followers.

"Go for it now. The future is promised to no one," he shared.

Barcelona have been linked with a number of different midfielders this month, including Manchester City's Bernardo Silva, but 90min understands the Portugal international will not be leaving the Etihad before the closure of the window.

Elsewhere, the Blaugrana have lodged a second bid for LA Galaxy right-back Julian Araujo, who is keen to make the move to Camp Nou.
