Struggling Sheffield United will look to get their stuttering Premier League season back on track when they entertain West Ham at Bramall Lane on Sunday.

Chris Wilder's side are marooned at the bottom of the table after suffering from an intense bout of 'second season syndrome', and have just a single point to their name so far.

David Moyes' West Ham, meanwhile, have come through a tough run of fixtures relatively unscathed, and were victorious in their last game against Fulham before the international break. They lie 12th in the Premier League, having picked up credible draws against both Tottenham and Manchester City.

Here's 90min's preview of the game.

Team News

Sheffield United have a number of injury concerns to contend with, and are guaranteed to be without the services of John Fleck, Jack O'Connell and Lys Mousset.

There are doubts over the availability of young striker Rhian Brewster, Enda Stevens and John Egan as well.

West Ham are without Andriy Yarmolenko, who tested positive for COVID-19 while on international duty with Ukraine, but are hopeful of having Angelo Ogbonna, Michail Antonio and Mark Noble available.

Issa Diop is on standby if Ogbonna isn't fit enough to start the game, while Antonio will likely be restricted to a place on the bench - giving Sebastien Haller another opportunity to impress.

Predicted Lineups

Sheffield United: Ramsdale; Basham, Egan, Stevens; Baldock, Berge, Norwood, Ampadu, Lowe; McGoldrick, McBurnie

West Ham: Fabianski; Balbuena, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Coufal, Rice, Soucek, Masuaku; Bowen, Haller, Fornals

Recent Form

The Blades, so extraordinary back in the top flight last season, prop up the pack having made one of the worst starts to a Premier League campaign - only four other teams have taken a single point from their first eight games in the competition's history.

Chris Wilder's men have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 11 Premier League games, conceding 20 goals over those fixtures, as many as were shipped over 21 previous matches.

West Ham have showed great character of late and have been putting in solid displays all over the pitch. Taking five points out of a possible nine in successive games against Leicester, Tottenham and Manchester City is no mean feat.

A narrow 1-0 win against Fulham followed a commendable display against Liverpool. when Diogo Jota's late goal snared all three points for the Reds in a 2-1 win.

Here's how both sides have fared in their last five games.

Sheffield United

Chelsea 4-1 Sheffield United ( 07/11 )
Sheffield United 0-1 Manchester City ( 31/10 )
Liverpool 2-1 Sheffield United ( 24/10 )
Sheffield United 1-1 Fulham ( 18/10 )
Arsenal 2-1 Sheffield United ( 04/10 )

West Ham

West Ham 1-0 Fulham ( 07/11 )
Liverpool 2-1 West Ham ( 31/10 )
West Ham 1-1 Manchester City ( 24/10 )
Tottenham 3-3 West Ham ( 18/10 )
Leicester City 0-3 West Ham ( 04/10 )

Prediction

With Sheffield United's preparations disrupted by injury, Chris Wilder will hope that some of the players that come into his side really have the bit between their teeth.

On the positive, Sheffield United have won all three of their Premier League home matches against West Ham, and they did take four points off the Hammers last season.

But the Hammers are in good spirits after a number of convincing displays, owing much to their change in formation. Matching up against the home side's system, you'd favour the Hammers given recent events.

Prediction: Sheffield United 0-2 West Ham
