Real Madrid will look to make it back-to-back over Shakhtar Donetsk when the two sides meet in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Los Blancos secured a 2-1 victory at the Bernabeu last week as first-half goals from Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior were enough to secure the three points and send them five points clear at the top of Group F.

Another win here would book Carlo Ancelotti's side a place in the next round, but Shakhtar put up a good fight last time out and have proven more than capable of upsetting the odds.

Here's all you need to know about this Champions League clash.

Real Madrid team news

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois remains out with a back problem, with the Clasico against Barcelona on Sunday seen as the likeliest return date for the Belgian.

Karim Benzema was given a rest against Getafe at the weekend as Real look to manage his load following his return to action. He's expected to start but, with Barcelona on the horizon, will likely not finish the game. That fixture could also provoke some rotation here.

A hamstring problem keeps Dani Ceballos on the sidelines.

Shakhtar Donetsk vs Real Madrid score prediction

Calling them vulnerable would be a stretch, but there's no denying that Real Madrid aren't at their best right now. They've only just kept their first La Liga clean sheet of the campaign, are missing their goalkeeper and their star forward isn't fully fit.

That being said, they're still the heavy favourites against Shakhtar.

A weakened Real squad flexed their dominance when these two sides met last week, but Shakhtar gave a great account of themselves. 2-1 was a fair result then, and it would be in this one as well.

Prediction: Shakhtar Donetsk 1-2 Real Madrid
