Shakhtar Donetsk completed a famous Champions League double over Real Madrid, with goals from Dentinho and Manor Solomon giving them a 2-0 win over Zinedine Zidane's side.

Real enjoyed the best of the first-half chances with the impressive Marco Asensio going close with two good efforts. The tide turned after the break when Shakhtar took a shock lead through substitute Dentinho. The Brazilian capitalised on some static defending by Raphael Varane and fired past Thibaut Courtois.

Real rallied after this blow but they had their hopes extinguished when Manor Solomon's rasping drive made it 2-0 with just under ten minutes left to play. The result was enough to move Shakhtar above their opponents on head-to-head record and it also sets up a dramatic final matchday in Group B.

Here are your Los Blancos player ratings after their disappointing defeat.

Real Madrid

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Thibaut Courtois (GK) - 6/10 - Just two saves to make for the Belgian. Perhaps could have got down earlier for the second goal if we're being harsh.

Lucas Vazquez (RB) - 5/10 -
A right-back in all but name. Played ridiculously high early on but his influence waned as the game progressed. Feeble defending for Solomon's goal.

Raphael Varane (CB) - 4/10 -
Looked like a right carthorse. Early yellow card was clumsiness personified and he was badly caught out for Shakhtar's first goal.

Nacho (CB) - 5/10 -
Not quite a bad as his partner, but still pretty shocking. Made a couple of fouls that were completely unnecessary.

Ferland Mendy (LB) - 6/10 -
Lots of thrust and often provided a dangerous attacking option. Swung in a few decent crosses.

2. Midfielders

Luka Modric (CM) - 6/10 - Broke up the play nicely, racking up five interceptions. Also used the ball pretty well, with a few long-ranged passes being the highlights.

Toni Kroos (CM) - 5/10 -
Not his finest hour. At times, he allowed the Shakhtar midfield too much time. Was not particularly influential in possession.

Martin Odegaard (CM) - 6/10 -
Spritely first half from the Norwegian but he faded after the break. Was rightly substituted.

3. Forwards

Rodrygo (RW) - 6/10 - Showed bravery, registering more dribbles than any other player on the pitch. However, not a lot of these runs led to anything of note.

Karim Benzema (ST) - 6/10 - Flashes of excellent link-up play. Managed to fire off a few shots on goal as well.

Marco Asensio (LW) - 7/10 - Los Blancos' brightest spark. He nearly scored in the first half and was a constant threat before being hooked off.
