With the bombshell news that Juventus' 15-point deduction has been overturned, the complexion of the Serie A table has taken a very sudden turn.

Napoli are still streaking away to the title, that remains unchanged, but Juventus' fortunes have been dramatically altered by the decision to reinstate the points deducted after an investigation was launched into financial irregularities.

Juve were accused of false corporate communications, false communications to the stock market and obstruction of watchdog agencies, with many leading figures at the club leaving their positions as a result - former president Andrea Agnelli and club legend Pavel Nedved were among those to walk away.

A new trial will determine whether or not Juventus have committed any wrongdoing, but that's not much use for the other teams who have now been pushed down the table by Juventus' points being handed back to them.

Serie A table with Juventus' 15 points reinstated

Juventus had been sitting comfortably outside the top seven on 44 points but are now right back into the Champions League qualification hunt.

They are up to third in Serie A, above Roma, Milan and Inter - both surprise Champions League semi-finalists - as well as Gian Piero Gasperini's entertaining Atalanta.

Massimiliano Allegri now has a real chance of leading Juventus back to European football's top table, which could provide crucial income for the club if their able to maintain results and seal a place in the last four.

Second-place Lazio are even in touching distance, though Juventus will need to cut out some of the defeats they have endured their season. Their most recent reverse was a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Sassuolo, who are only just in the top half of the table.
