Ryan Fraser is reportedly eyeing up a move to Tottenham when the transfer window opens with his departure from Bournemouth seemingly inevitable.

The 26-year-old arrived on the south coast in 2013 and has gone on to make 208 appearances for the Cherries in total. However, the Scotsman is aiming to further his career and is looking for a move to one of the Premier League's elite clubs this summer.

With Fraser's contract set to expire in June, a host of English clubs have shown interest in acquiring his services next season, including Tottenham's north London rivals Arsenal.

According to The Mirror, Bournemouth's negotiations to extend Fraser's contract have been unsuccessful, with the winger now particularly keen on a move to Tottenham when his current deal runs out.

While his primary ambition is to play Champions League football - something that looks unlikely for Spurs next season - Fraser believes the Lilywhites are on the right track in that regard.

Tottenham currently find themselves eighth in the Premier League table, sitting seven points off London rivals Chelsea in fourth. A fifth-place finish could be enough to qualify for the Champions League next season, however, courtesy of Manchester City's potential European ban.

José Mourinho and Daniel Levy will be looking to keep costs down this summer as the coronavirus pandemic is likely to have an unprecedented impact on the transfer market, meaning signing Fraser on a free transfer would be ideal.

However, Bournemouth will want the Scot to sign a short-term contract extension as the Premier League campaign won't finish until after his current deal expires.

The Cherries currently sit in the relegation zone on goal difference alone and face an uphill battle to avoid relegation. As a result, Eddie Howe will be desperate not to lose one of his most dynamic attacking players before the season comes to an end - potentially complicating a summer move for Fraser.
