Robert Lewandowski has urged Bayern Munich to grant him a move away from the club, stressing that his time at the Allianz Arena is over.

The Poland international has spoken publicly about his wish to leave Bayern this summer, with Barcelona understood to be his preferred destination, but the German giants have been reluctant to let him leave while he still has one year left on his contract.

Now away with the Poland national team, Lewandowski did not hold back when asked about his future with Bayern.

"It is certain that my story with Bayern Munich is over," he said. "After what has happened in recent months, I cannot imagine further co-operation.

"A transfer is the best solution for both parties. Bayern are a serious club and I believe that they will not stop me just because they can."

Bayern are looking to bolster in attack this summer with a deal for Sadio Mane, who has said his goodbyes to Liverpool in anticipation of a possible transfer.

As for Lewandowski, the Pole is said to have his heart set on a move to Barcelona, where Xavi is desperate to welcome him with open arms, although the Blaugrana's financial struggles have so far proven problematic.
