Real Madrid will continue their march towards the La Liga title on Sunday night with a home match against a struggling Sevilla side.

Carlo Ancelotti's team are now six points ahead of Girona at the top and are the clear favourites to snatch back the title from Barcelona, but they cannot take their foot off the gas just yet. The recent draw with Rayo Vallecano was a reminder this is not yet a vintage Blancos team and the door has not fully closed their rivals just yet.

Sevilla are having a poor season, sitting down in 15th and just seven points above the bottom three. They have won two and drawn two of their last four La Liga games, though, beating Atletico Madrid 1-0 recently. There are some signs of stability but they will find it tough at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid team news

Madrid's six-point lead at the top of La Liga is impressive considering they have not been lucky with injuries. Eder Militao, Thibaut Courtois and David Alaba are all out with long-term problems, while Jude Bellingham remains absent thanks to the knock he picked up against Girona.

Striker Joselu suffered an injury blow before the weekend to rule him out of contention while Antonio Rudiger is a major doubt as he tries to recover from a thigh problem. Dani Carvajal and Eduardo Camavinga are both suspended.

Sevilla team news

Sevilla may have found a slight upturn in form recently but remain without a handful of key players. Erik Lamela, Lucas Ocampos and Marcos Acuna are all out of action, while Marcao, Lucien Agoume, Mariano Diaz and Dodi Lukebakio are injured too.

There are plenty of intriguing options in the Sevilla squad such as Hannibal Mejbri, Adnan Januzaj and Alejo Veliz, but the Andalucians won't be at full strength for the toughest game of their season so far.

Sergio Ramos, who spent 16 seasons and won countless trophies with Madrid, will make his return to the Bernabeu in central defence for the visitors.

Real Madrid vs Sevilla score prediction

As far as Real Madrid vs Sevilla fixtures go, this may not be a classic given the poor state the away team finds itself in and the injuries that stop Los Blancos from being at full strength.

That said, Madrid have been close to perfect at home in La Liga this season, winning ten of their 12 games at the Bernabeu, and while their patched-up defence will likely concede, they have the quality in attack needed to outscore this Sevilla team.

Prediction: Real Madrid 2-1 Sevilla
