Paris Saint-Germain travel to Real Madrid with a one-goal lead to defend and build on in the pick of the Champions League last 16 second leg ties.

Kylian Mbappe's outrageous goal deep into stoppage time at Parc des Princes is all that separates these two giants, though PSG were much better on that night and will rue not flying south with a bigger margin of victory.

Their away form has been shaky and the Santiago Bernabeu has become a tough place to go to once again, and Mauricio Pochettino's side will have to be at their star-dazzling best in order to progress to the quarter-finals.

Real Madrid team news

Toni Kroos' recent hamstring injury is a huge blow to Real's hopes of overturning this deficit, while Los Blancos will also be without a natural left-back with Marcelo struggling with a thigh problem and Ferland Mendy suspended.

Like Mendy, Casemiro too picked up a booking in the first leg and is absent for the return fixture.

PSG team news

PSG fans were dealt some Earth-shattering news on Monday when it emerged that Kylian Mbappe picked up a knock in training and is a doubt for this fixture.

Achraf Hakimi and Sergio Ramos are not expected to make their Bernabeu returns, while Spaniard Ander Herrera will also miss out. Layvin Kurzawa and Leandro Paredes are both doubts too.

Real Madrid vs PSG head-to-head record

Real Madrid and PSG share a rather even history in European competition. The Spanish behemoths have won three of their seven encounters with the French outfit, who in turn have won two themselves - but neither of those victories have come at the Bernabeu.

Prior to last month's meeting, the two faced off in the group stages of the 2019/20 tournament, with PSG prevailing 3-0 at home and coming from two goals down to secure a late 2-2 draw back in Madrid.

Real Madrid vs PSG score prediction

PSG's first-leg win was one of their most impressive in their modern history, perhaps bettering any performance they put in on their way to the 2020 final.

With Mbappe (hopefully), Lionel Messi and Neymar spearheading your attack, you always have the potential to hurt teams, but the trio leave their side exposed in other areas.

The Bernabeu atmosphere helped Madrid overturn a 1-0 deficit against Real Sociedad at the weekend, all the while PSG were getting toyed around by Nice.

This may simply come down to Real's prolific home form going hand-in-hand with Les Parisiens' struggles on the road.

Prediction: Real Madrid 3-1 PSG (AET)
