Real Madrid have been on a roll of late, winning four of their opening five La Liga games, and they will be hoping to extend that fine record when they host a stoic Villarreal side on Saturday.

Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior have been in incredible form in recent times and Marco Asensio's hat trick last time out, in a 6-1 win over Mallorca, proved that Real's strength in depth is not as unimpressive as feared by some at the beginning of the campaign.

Villarreal represent the toughest test of the season so far, though. Unai Emery's side are unbeaten in La Liga - though this does include four draws - and they have only conceded three goals.

Here is the starting XI Carlo Ancelotti will likely rely on to get the job done on Saturday...

Real Madrid predicted lineup vs Villarreal - La Liga

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Thibaut Courtois (GK) - Six games into the season and Courtois has only registered one clean sheet. Often let down by his defence, he will be looking to change that on Saturday.

Nacho Fernandez (RB) - With Dani Carvajal suffering from another injury, Nacho will continue to deputise at right-back. He has been solid when called upon so far.

Eder Militao (CB) - There were more than a few question marks over Eder Militao heading into the season and despite a few shaky moments, he has largely responded well, establishing himself as Alaba's first-choice partner in the process.

David Alaba (CB) - Capable of playing left-back or even in midfield, it looks like Alaba will be operating at centre-back for the majority of this season.

Miguel Gutierrez (LB) - Thrusted into the first team thanks to an injury crisis, Gutierrez has taken his chance with both hands, seriously impressing this season.

2. Midfielders

Casemiro (CM) - Casemiro has not quite got going this season but he is key to making Real tick when on song.

Luka Modric (CM) - Age may be starting to catch up with the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner, but he is still capable of controlling a game when he is feeling it. He was rested against Mallorca but should return to the starting XI here.

Federico Valverde (CM) - Rewarded with a new contract in the summer, Valverde has a little bit of everything and should be motoring around the Real midfield for years to come.

3. Forwards

Karim Benzema

Marco Asensio (RW) - Bagging a hat trick is one way to force yourself into the manager's plans. Expect to see Eden Hazard left on the bench in lieu of the hero of Mallorca.

Karim Benzema (ST) - Benzema has been in crazy form this season - he is currently top of the goal and assist charts in Europe's top five leagues. Do not bet against him adding to his tally against Villarreal.

Vinicius Junior (LW) - Vinicius Junior looks set to finally fulfil his promise this season, having already scored five goals and chipped in with a few assists too. His combinations with Benzema have been particularly joyous.
