Real Madrid predicted lineup vs Granada - La Liga
By Max Parsons
Real Madrid host Granada on Sunday night, looking for a first win in three outings.
Their disappointing 1-0 Copa del Rey defeat to Athletic Club on Thursday followed a 2-2 La Liga draw with Elche prior to the season's mini-break.
Despite current form, however, Carlo Ancelotti's men are still four points clear at the league summit, and had won 18 in 21 across all competitions before their current slump.
They have a good opportunity to put rocky form to bed on Sunday, playing 15th-placed Granada who have lost their previous 13 encounters with Real Madrid. Here's how Los Blancos could line up.
Real Madrid predicted lineup vs Granada
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Thibaut Courtois (GK) - One of Real Madrid's most consistent performers this term, Courtois is enjoying a fantastic season.
Dani Carvajal (RB) - Has been absent through Covid-19 recently, but should be able to make a return on Sunday night.
Eder Militao (CB) - Has been brilliant this campaign; it's no surprise that the likes of Chelsea are after him.
Nacho Fernandez (CB) - With Ferland Mendy out there'll likely be a reshuffle at the back, allowing Nacho to come into the fold.
David Alaba (LB) - The Austrian should be the one to fill in on the left of defence.
2. Midfielders
Casemiro (DM) - The anchor has only missed one of his side's previous 21 outings - through suspension - which just proves his importance at the heart of the team.
Luka Modric (CM) - Absolutely ageless; gave Granada grief when they last met, and will probably do the same here.
Toni Kroos (CM) - Not in the most spectacular form at the moment but never rule him out of completely running a game.
3. Forwards
Marco Asensio (RW) - Vinicius Jr is absent through suspension for the visit of Granada, so it'll likely be a shootout between Asensio, Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale to take his place in the front line.
Karim Benzema (ST) - Missed his side's Cope del Rey defeat in midweek, but should have recovered from a slight hamstring issue to continue his stunning season on Sunday.
Rodrygo (LW) - So clearly capable of turning on the style, but still hasn't found the back of the net in La Liga this term.
