Real Madrid predicted lineup vs Osasuna - La Liga
By Max Parsons
Real Madrid face another away trip on Wednesday, as they travel north to face Osasuna in La Liga.
Carlo Ancelotti's team were down south in Sevilla at the weekend and came away happy despite trailing 2-0 at half time.
A second-half comeback on that occasion completed by Karim Benzema gave Los Blancos a significant victory and sent them 15 points clear at the La Liga summit - a gap they still boast after Cadiz shocked Barcelona on Monday night.
Another tough test awaits champions-elect Real, in the form of a visit to an in-form Osasuna side hopeful of a top-half finish. Here's how Ancelotti could set his men up.
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Thibaut Courtois (GK) - Has truly silenced any critics with what has been an excellent individual campaign.
Lucas Vazquez (RB) - Absences at left-back should see Vazquez start once more - no bad thing following a solid showing at Sevilla.
Eder Militao (CB) - The Brazilian's performance was anything but solid on Sunday but he should retain his place in the back line nevertheless.
David Alaba (CB) - The summer signing is set for a 30th La Liga outing this week, having only been kept out of the side through injury and Covid-19.
Dani Carvajal (LB) - With Ferland Mendy and Marcelo both set to miss out once more, Carvajal will certainly start here following a glorious second-half display last time out.
2. Midfielders
Toni Kroos (CM) - Casemiro is available after suspension but is expected to miss out because of a fitness issue. That could mean that Kroos remains in the syarting XI, despite looking leggy last time out.
Federico Valverde (CM) - Luka Modric pulled out some classy moves once again at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan on Sunday but he could be afforded a breather after signs of fatigue, with Valverde back in the middle.
Eduardo Camavinga (CM) - With Real in need of resting more established stars, the young Frenchman could make a third successive La Liga start.
3. Forwards
Rodrygo (RW) - Got the ball rolling for his side's stunning comeback against Sevilla with his first league goal of the campaign, before assisting the winner in stoppage time - safe to say he's earned a start here.
Karim Benzema (ST) - Doing his utmost to get a little golden sphere up on his mantlepiece; 52 goal involvements for the season and counting.
Vinicius Junior (LW) - On course for a tenth consecutive league start since being kept out of the side through suspension, in search of a 25th La Liga goal involvement for the campaign.
