Real Madrid are set to wear a new black kit in the Clasico against Barcelona at the Bernabeu on Sunday, created in collaboration between adidas and fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto.

Yamamoto previously designed Real’s iconic black third shirt with dragon graphic back in 2014/15 and will now team up with the club and adidas again. This time, however, the Japanese designer’s own Y-3 branding will even replace the usual adidas logo on front of the jersey.

The collaboration also continues the celebrations of Real’s 120th anniversary, which was observed earlier this month after the club was initially formed on 6 March 1902.

The Y-3 collection won’t just be limited to a new match jersey, but features additional items of clothing and other accessories. The matching goalkeeper kit will be pink.

The special new kit will give the Clasico a new look, with Barça also set to wear a change strip.  The visitors are to wear a kit in the colours of the Senyera – the iconic yellow and red Catalan flag. Typically, both clubs would normally wear their home kits to face each other.

Real have also announced this week their intention to donate €1m to the people of Ukraine through the Real Madrid Foundation’s ‘Everyone with Ukraine’ campaign. That will include donating to and working with the Red Cross, UNHCR, Cesal and Salesian Missions.
