It's the table-toppers against the league's basement side in the WSL on Sunday evening as Reading host Arsenal at the Madejski Stadium.

The Royals have lost their opening two fixtures of the new season - but have seen key refereeing decisions go against them on both occasions - while Arsenal have run out comfortable 4-0 winners in each of their first two WSL matches.

Can Reading get off the mark or will Arsenal make it three wins from three?

Reading team news

Forward Deanne Rose remains a long-term absentee for Reading, having ruptured her Achilles on the opening day of the season.

Arsenal team news

Arsenal are set to be short of defensive options for Sunday's fixture. The Gunners are without Rafaelle Souza, who is currently sidelined for several weeks after fracturing her metatarsus, and fellow centre back Leah Williamson, who is out for a similar timeframe after sustaining a foot injury while training with England during the October international break.

Reading vs Arsenal predicted lineups

Reading (3-4-3): Moloney; Cooper, Evans, Mukundi; Bryson, Primmer, Rowe, Woodham; Eikeland, Dowie, Wade.

Arsenal (4-3-3): Zinsberger; Wienroither, Beattie, Wubben-Moy, Catley; Walti, Little, Miedema; Mead, Blackstenius, Foord.

Reading vs Arsenal score prediction

Reading have been hard done by in their opening two WSL matches, seeing a harsh penalty awarded against them during their opening day defeat to Manchester United, and a goal incorrectly chalked off for offside against Brighton.

Injuries had a substantial impact on Arsenal's 2021/22 WSL title charge last January, and the Gunners will be hoping injuries to Rafaelle and Leah Williamson do not have the same effect.

Even so, Arsenal still should have enough about them to come out on top on Sunday.

Prediction: Reading 1-3 Arsenal
