Australian midfielder Alex Chidiac is making her way stateside, joining NWSL side Racing Louisville. The Melbourne Victory figure signed a contract running through the end of the 2022 season, with an option to return in 2023.
The move comes after a successful season in the Australian league, helping her side win back-to-back Grand Finals before earning a spot in the PFA team of the season and winning the Victory Medal as the champions' player of the season in the process.
"I'm really grateful for the opportunity to join Racing Louisville FC," Chidiac said.
"I'm excited to develop and learn in a new environment and I know I'll get the most out of myself in the amazing facilities and setup at the club. I can't wait to get over there and join my new teammates and staff."
This is her third overseas move, having featured for Spain’s Atletico and Japan’s JEF United Chiba.
The midfielder also received her first national call-up to the Australian national team since June 2021. She was originally named to the extended squad for the upcoming friendlies against New Zealand, but Kyra Cooney-Cross's withdrawal saw Chidiac make her way into the first team.
