Paris Saint-Germain are back in action on Sunday after a luxurious eight-day rest period, hosting Reims in Ligue 1.

Mauricio Pochettino's men currently boast an 11-point cushion at the summit of France's top flight and are fresh from a 2-0 win over Brest. That victory followed a turgid 1-1 draw with Lyon, however, once again demonstrating the kind of performance that bizarrely fails to inspire.

They'll be confident of making it two wins on the trot this weekend, though, facing a Reims side who are winless in three league fixtures and go into Sunday's clash sitting 14th in the table.

Here's 90min's preview of the Ligue 1 clash.

Achraf Hakimi, Idrissa Gueye and Abdou Diallo will of course remain absent for the hosts, as they all continue their respective journeys at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Elsewhere, Layvin Kurazaw and Danilo Pereira should miss out through Covid-19, while Juan Bernat represents a doubt and Neymar remains on the sidelines with his ankle injury.

Reims team news

The visitors have a lengthy injury list with Marshall Munetsi, Fode Doucoure, Arber Zeneli, Valon Berisha, and Azor Matusiwa all likely to be out of contention for the trip to Paris.

Meanwhile, Oscar Garcia will also have to make do without Moreto Cassama, Moussa Doumbia, Ghislain Konan and El Bilal Toure, who are also all away at AFCON.

PSG vs Reims head-to-head record

Reims enjoyed a period of domestic dominance in France throughout the 1950s but, since the rise of PSG, have had to take a peripheral role.

These two clubs - huge in different eras - have only met 15 times in competitive action, with the Parisians predictably enjoying the better record. PSG have come out on top ten times in the fixture, with Reims only winning three game.

Sunday's visitors did beat their hosts in two consecutive meetings, in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons, although have lost the previous four meetings by an aggregate score of 11-0.

PSG vs Reims prediction

It's not a difficult one to predict; PSG head into this one overwhelming favourites.

Although they have so often flattered to deceive this campaign, they still possess outrageous quality pretty much all over the pitch. And, despite Reims' very respectable defensive record this term, you'd expect that creative superiority to pierce through on the night.

It may take patience, but the goals will surely come.

Prediction: PSG 4-1 Reims
