As we mentioned, the main news for PSG is the absence of Messi - who may also miss their upcoming Champions League clash with Manchester City. Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are both available, though.

Aside from Messi, Mauricio Pochettino also has Sergio Ramos, Marco Verratti, Juan Bernat, Ismael Gharbi out. Layvin Kurzawa and Colin Dagba are doubtful, leaving him short in both full-back positions.

Long-term absentees Ambroise Oyongo, Pedro Mendes and Thibault Tamas will not feature on Saturday.

In better news, defender Matheus Thuler should slot back into defence after serving a suspension. Mamadou Sakho, meanwhile, is unlikely to feature.

PSG predicted lineup

PSG: Donnarumma, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Diallo; Danilo, Herrera, Wijnaldum; Neymar, Icardi, Mbappe.

Montpellier: Omlin; Sambia, Esteve, Thuler, Ristic; Ferri, Chotard; Mollet, Savanier, Mavididi, Germain

PSG vs Montpellier head-to-head record

These two sides have faced off plenty of times previously, with PSG winning 29 of the 66 meetings overall.

In recent memory, the Parisians have inflicted some heavy defeats too - beating Montpellier 5-0 during the 2019/20 season and 4-0 last campaign.

You have to go back to the 2018/19 term for their last win over PSG, and that was attained when their opponents already had the title sown up.

PSG vs Montpellier score prediction

PSG have showed little signs of repeating last season's slip-up, when Lille clinched the Ligue 1 title despite their vastly inferior resources.

Montpellier will have their work cut out to prevent this becoming embarrassing and you should expect the hosts to win easily here - even without Messi.

Mbappe and Neymar should have a field day and there is always a chance of penalty box prowler Mauro Icardi getting in on the act too.
